Air Caraïbes Is Heading For Saint Martin

The airline Air Caraïbes is relaunching its regular flights today between Paris and Saint-Martin on the Dutch side of the island, after more than a year of suspension due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

From April 28, 2021, the French company is offering one flight per week between Paris-Orly and Sint Maarten-Princess Juliana airport (SXM), operated by Airbus A350-900 that can accommodate 18 passengers in Business class, 45 in Premium and 326 in Economy. Departures are scheduled for Wednesday at 10:50 a.m. to arrive live at 1:20 p.m., return flights taking off at 2:50 p.m. to land the next day at 7:55 a.m. via a stopover in Pointe-à-Pitre.

Air Caraïbes intends to increase to two flights per week from June 9, Tuesday and Friday, which will be direct in both directions. It competes with Air France on this line, inaugurated in December 2009 and offered before the pandemic in the A330-200.

The use of an Airbus A350 is a big first for Saint Martin-Juliana , which had for the first time received this type of plane on April 21 – it was the F-HNET of Air Caraïbes, operating a cargo flight .

Let us recall that Air Caraïbes and its sister within the Dubreuil Group, the low cost long-haul French Bee , want to support the implementation of the European health passport , the “digital green certificate” which could be launched in mid-June. In March, they tested the AOKpass health passport (like Air France and Corsair or Alitalia among others). These health passports will allow their customers ” to travel with greater ease and to guarantee health security in the overseas territories that it serves (the five departments, as outermost regions, belong to the European Union). “.

Since the start of the health crisis, Air Caraïbes has offered its customers “services adapted to changes in the situation. These services aim to facilitate the customer journey throughout the journey: setting up at Orly in July 2020 of a laboratory dedicated to customers wishing to do a PCR test, sanitary conditions strictly applied at each stage of the journey, 100% tickets flexible, COVID assistance offered ”and therefore this experiment with the AOKpass. Its trade and health measures can be found here .
